I apologize, but it’s time for legalese. It may be boring, but please read this as it is very important.
For the purpose of this section, “the server” includes the game, the concept of the game, the computer hardware and software, and the web site associated with the game.
By Role Playing on or about this server, all Players agree that all storyline and content, including such written by the Player for and about their Character(s), is sole property of the server’s owners. This server’s lore, history, backstory, setting, storyline, plot arcs, past and current Role Play by both Admins and Players, environment, concepts, original 3D models and artwork, and Characters are all protected under International Copyright law and remains the sole property of the server’s owners regardless of whether it was written by the owners of the server, or by Players Role Playing on or about the server.
By Role Playing on or about this server, the Player agrees that anything they Role Play on or about this server remains the sole intellectual property of the server’s owners, who retain all Copyrights to all content to the fullest extent of the law. This section includes Role Play that happens off of the server, but about it, the setting, the characters and/or any other content related to the server, including but not limited to offline Role Play, Role Play posts on forums, and fan fiction. While limited, revocable permission is granted to do these things, they remain the sole property of the server’s owners.
By Role Playing on or about this server, Players agree that their Characters, being bound to the setting and storyline of the server, are the property of the server’s owners, even though the Players have authority to write their Characters within the bounds of the server’s rules.
Players are permitted to produce original artwork, 3D models, or other content in support of their Role Play and/or Character. If such content includes content specifically about this server, then it is the sole property of the owners of the server. If such content is contains no such specific content, then it remains the property of the Player.
Players Role Playing on or about this server agree that Player-made artwork, 3D models or other content which remains the property of the Player which is uploaded to the server grants a permanent license to the server’s owners to use the content with no compensation to the Player.
Players posting content to the server (which includes the web site) agree that all such content becomes the sole property of the owners of the server. This will not include content which is already copyrighted by a third party, so long as said party did not create the content specifically about this server, in which case it remains the sole property of the server’s owners. Players who upload content to the server in violation of a third party’s copyright remain fully responsible for the violation. Such content will be removed from the server upon request from the copyright owner.
Players are not permitted to support their Role Play with Copyrighted material without proper licensing. Characters are not permitted to be based on other characters within literature, but must be original. Failure to follow this will result in the immediate termination of the character, and a possible ban from the server.
It is not permitted to export, rip, or remove content from this server to use outside the server without express written permission from the server’s owners. Content on this server is often licensed from third parties. Whether third party or original to this server, content is protected by International Copyright law, and in many cases are protected by third party license agreements. Permission is NOT granted to the players to export this content from the server unless explicitly stated.
In the case that a Player is banned from the server, their license to use any content owned by the server’s owners is revoked with no refund.
In the case that the server is transferred to new owners, all rights and licenses stated here are transferred to the new owners.
Exceptions may only be made in writing from the server’s owners.
Some content and software found on the server is not original. All such content is licensed, purchased, or Public Domain. The server’s owners make no claim of ownership of such content.
If any section of this agreement is found to be unenforceable under law, the remainder of the agreement will remain in full effect.
